Woman Turns Boeing Plane Into Fully Functional Home

In 1993, Jo Ann Ussery encountered the task of securing a new residence for herself and her children following the destruction of her house in Mississippi, resulting in her innovative living solution.
With limited finances, she couldn’t afford a suitable trailer, but her brother-in-law suggested a unique idea – living in a decommissioned Boeing 727 airplane.

Transforming the Boeing 727 Ussery purchased the entire plane, including shipping costs, for just $2,000 and spent around $30,000 refurbishing it into her dream home.
She ingeniously transformed the 138-foot long aircraft into a fully operational living area, featuring three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, laundry room, and an opulent master bathroom located in the cockpit.
Creating a lasting legacy, Ussery chose to transform her unique home into a museum after enjoying it for several years, inviting the world to experience its splendor.
Regrettably, the plane sustained significant damage during transit; nonetheless, her remarkable transformation stands as a testament to creativity and resilience.
