Rumors Claim Celine Dion Made $2 Million To Sing One Song, But Olympic Organizers Revealed She Wasn’t Paid Anything
Initially reported by TMZ, the outlet revealed that Celine Dion was making a bundle for the opening ceremony at the Olympics. The figure was set to be at $2 million for just one song. Although the number is staggering, it really isn’t hard to believe, especially given how massive the Olympic stage is, and all the sponsors involved. However, Olympic organizers added confusion to TMZ’s release, stating Dion wasn’t making anything, and neither was Lady Gaga.
The statement reads, “Contrary to some media reports, the music artists who will be appearing at the Paris 2024 Games Ceremonies will not be paid a fee for their services. Their decision to perform under these conditions reflects their desire to be part of a historic event for France, and for the world of sports.”
However, Paris was covering the technical and production costs for performances.
“In addition, Paris 2024 will cover all technical production and performance organization costs, as is customary. Paris 2024 would like to point out that 96 percent of the Organising Committee’s budget is funded by private revenues and that no public contributions are used to pay the artistic teams.”
Celine Dion’s net worth is valued at $800 million.
Despite the confusion in pay, Dion was feeling gratitude for the moment. She wrote on her social media pages:
