Lenny Kravitz isn’t directly commenting on the Mariah Carey rumors, but he seemed to imply he’s still single after revealing he remains celibate.
Kravitz shared rare insights into his personal life during an interview with The Guardian, released on Thursday, May 30.
He revealed he has not engaged in a serious romantic relationship for nine years and continues to practice celibacy as he waits for the right partner.

“Yes. It’s a spiritual thing,” Kravitz explained when discussing his decision to remain celibate.

“It’s just a promise I made until I get married. Where I’m at in life, the women have got to come with something else, not just the body, but the mind and spirit,” the rocker shared with Maxim in 2008. “It usually trips them out, but that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m looking at the big picture.”

Lenny’s comments come after a report last month suggest he’s romancing singer Mariah Carey after a long time friendship. “There’s definitely chemistry between them,” a source told Life & Style. “They’re both single and they’ve been hanging out a lot lately.”
“They’ve been super close over the years, and they have a lot in common so it’s not surprising that they could have taken their friendship to the next level,” they continued. “Everyone who knows them personally in the music industry is buzzing about it — and wants it to be true!”
Mariah and Lenny have maintained a deep-rooted friendship that began long before either achieved stardom. During their early careers as budding musicians, they often visited the same sports bar in New York City, where they would share and critique each other’s demo tapes.
Their friendship has endured through the years, leading to various collaborative efforts. Notably, they co-starred in the 2009 film Precious. More recently, their paths crossed at the Recording Academy Honors in February, where both artists were honored for their contributions to music.
