While Taylor Swift’s budding romance with Travis Kelce has sparked fascination, it’s also caused controversy and concern, as some people are reportedly concerned that things are moving too fast (including those in her inner circle).
However, Taylor recently clarified the timeline around her and Travis’ relationship, and it appears the couple have been dating much longer than fans realized.

Taylor And Travis Started dating In Early Summer

During a new interview with TIME, Taylor revealed she’s been seeing Travis since early summer, specifically back to when he referenced her on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce in July.
“[He] very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Taylor said, explaining that’s when sparks started flying between the pair.
During the podcast appearance, Travis revealed he tried to give his phone number to Taylor via a friendship bracelet (which it’s common to trade at her Eras concert), though he said the attempt was unsuccessful.
Nevertheless, his comments gained a lot of attention in the media, and it appears to have caught Taylor’s attention, too. Though the pair weren’t photographed together until late summer, their romance appears to have begun around July, given Taylor’s comments. This debunks the assumption that their first public appearance was also their first date.
Taylor Swift’s younger brother, Austin Swift has been listed alongside the singer on several of her projects.
Taylor explained they started quietly “hanging out” following the podcast, but waited a while before letting the paparazzi catch them together.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she told TIME. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?”
Taylor added she “would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Taylor and Travis’ relationship has been noticeably public compared to her previous romances, including her 6-year long relationship with Joe Alwyn. During Taylor and Joe’s time together, they were rarely spotted in public and frequently declined to comment on each other.
Taylor addressed the public nature of her relationship with Travis, explaining she’s “proud” of watching his achievements, suggesting her appearances at his NFL games won’t stop.
“I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Taylor told the outlet. “We’re just proud of each other.”
Reports say that Taylor and Travis are getting serious, with some headlines suggesting he may propose soon. Taylor is reportedly also staying with the NFL star full-time at hi new $6 million mansion.
Nonetheless, there have also been reports of concern amongst her loved ones, including Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid, who’ve reportedly warned Taylor to be cautious (though Gigi publicly denied the speculation).
Taylor was also issued a public warning by Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Maya Benberry, who alleges he cheated on her. For now, Taylor and Travis haven’t commented on the controversy.
